Sassy Stitcher's FIRST QUILT RETREAT!!!

First of all we really missed not having all our members attend because it was a delightful experience in every way!

The caravan met up at Just Sew-our first shop along the way-and said good bye to Amber, who couldn't make it this time. Of course, we did a little shopping while we were there--we hadn't even left Alpine yet!  Eight hours later we arrived in St. George.  We didn't miss many quilt shops between the two cities!  Lacey's in-laws were the host of our grand get away and we had this beautiful home to ourselves for four days.

 Here's a picture of the 6 of us at Corn Wagon, our second stop and you can see that most of us made some kind of purchase.  We haven't even left the valley!!!

We visited quilt shops each day and ate our main meal out.  The only cooking we did was to boil eggs each morning for our breakfast.  We didn't want to waste any good quilting time.  Dawn brought up several videos and we watched the 6 videos from the the Jesse Stone series while we quilted or relaxed.



Vicki thought it would be fun to give everyone in the group a name to describe their contribution to the group.  Barbara got the title of Snow White, I guess Vicki saw the rest of us as the "5" dwarfs".  She was always cheerfully watching over us and being our great leader.
We didn't get much sleep during our stay but Robin was able to sneak in a few more ZZZ's than the rest of us, so she became our Sleeping Beauty.
Jacque was dubbed Cinderella for cleaning up a couple of times.  The dishes were minimal but the threads and material pieces were plentiful.
We took a couple of walks during our stay and Dawn cannot resist an animal.  She met a lovely black swan floating in one of the ponds in the neighborhood and insisted it talked back to her when she talked to it, so she gets the name of Dr. Doolittle.  She loves to talk to any animal she meets.
Lacey was our wonderful hostess and took such good care of us.  Because she took on the responsibility of the trip and has long gorgeous blonde hair she earned the name of Rapunzel.
Now for Vicki, she's a maniac when it comes to quilting.  She was bent over her Viking sewing machine most of the time, refusing to quit. She was up with the dawn and as you can see above, she purchased the fabric, chose the design and completed this quilt while we were there.  Need I say more!  We'll just call her Viking Queen, not a name she chose for herself. Where's the helmet with the horns!

 This was the cutest basket that Dawn brought to store all the goodies she purchased.  I couldn't resist a picture.  Too bad I missed a lot other ones that would have documented the trip.
