WELCOME 2012 GUILD!!!

The first thing we want to do is thank Grace for hosting our first meeting of the year at her home!!!   Thank you, thank you, Grace!

We are so excited about the plans for 2012 and the new guild members 

that have joined us!!!

We're looking forward to some quilting, service ideas, a retreat, sharing and getting to 

know each other.  When we began two years ago, we had brand new quilters and some experienced ones and we have the same this year. One of the highlights of the past 

two years is the friendships we've formed. Quilting seems to do that for 

women and we can hardly wait to embrace our new quilting friends.

Let's get to know everyone and see what they can do!

    

 Dawn is an avid quilter but she has many other talents as well.  Check out these beautiful scarves she knit for her family.  Wouldn't you like to be on her list for gifts!

 Grace has been quilting for a long time and also machine quilts her own quilts.  The backs have as much character as the fronts.  She's quite creative and obviously loves every minute.

Tracie (on the left) joined us over a year ago and started off with a bang.  Her goal was to make a quilt for her daughter's wedding.  The Sassy Stitcher's supported her and she made her goal and thrilled her daughter with the treasured gift.

Joann fell in love with this cute quilted purse.  It's her inspiration
to quilt something for herself.  Go Joann!

Ammie has embraced quilting with gusto.  Love all those fun polka dots!  That took a few hours to put together!  The quilted bag has retreat written all over it.  Can't you see it filled with fabric and quilting paraphernalia for the retreat or books and toys for the kids to take to church.  Love the animal print on it!

 This colorful quilt is being made for 

her Mom.  Making a quilt for someone 

is truly an act of love.

Last fall, each member of the guild was give a bag with two different color crayons
in it. Our challenge was to make something from those two colors.  We could add
black,beige or white as neutrals.  Here's Amber's orange and turquoise quilt.
So clever and cute.  We're still waiting to see what others have done
with their crayons.

progress.  Maybe we'll see the final
work at our next guild meeting.
